What We Believe

We, at All Creatures ULC are an inter-faith, non-denominational, church that believes that we are all seeking and discovering our own personal truth in our own unique way.

For many of us, that truth is found through Jesus Christ or the Divine Creator. For a large number of our members, it is found through examining life and the experiences we all have. All of these paths and more are welcomed and explored. We value all the viewpoints of our ministers and congregation, however varied and controversial they might be.

We believe in religious freedom, as long as it does not infringe on the rights of or harm others and is within the law. We welcome any who seek truth, wisdom, and tolerance. We believe the eternal message of truth is a spiritual message that needs to be heard within one’s very being. In Luke 17:20-21, Jesus said that the kingdom of God is within each of us and that it will not be found outside of one’s self nor can it be seen with physical eyes. God will and can speak within the heart of each individual.

We believe every creature is important to God’s creation. The love we give to and receive from a pet can draw us more deeply into the larger circle of life, into the wonder of our common relationship to our Creator. Therefore, all of God’s animals are welcomed, honored, and respected at All Creatures ULC (see the note on the Home page under Spiritual Services for more info).

We believe that “church” is a community of believers brought together through a common desire to join in the celebration of the Divine Creator’s teachings and to learn from each other.

Our Vision

Our vision is be an inclusive, spirit-filled place that helps any and all who ask to find their spiritual truth, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, background, or other affiliations.

We wish to spread the message of God’s extravagant welcome — reaching out especially to those who have felt there is no room for them within the church — the excluded and alienated, the spiritually homeless, the questioning. Our
compassion is to those who were spiritually broken by religious leaders and/or organizations, but still wish to communicate with God in ways that are more open and non-judgmental.

We use teaching material from a variety of sources, the Bible included, as wisdom is found in many places and people each hear it in different ways.

Through our ministry, we explore many faiths and belief systems and seek to understand the universal truths that each of these contain.

Rev. Claudia

Reverend Claudia Barber, Pastor with some of her pets.

Reverend Claudia was ordained on January 8, 2003 in the Universal Life Church. Always an animal lover, after many years of study, Reverend Claudia realized she was drawn to animal ministry. She has a deep understanding of the bond between pets and owners and believes each relationship must be honored for what it brings to the people and animals involved.

As pastor of All Creatures Universal Life Church,
Reverend Claudia hopes to help people come to a closer union with God and all of God’s creation. She is a passionate animal advocate and supporter of many causes relating to both animals and children. Her enthusiasm for animals, people, and God is infectious.
